Preparation
Always ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from anything that may affect adhesion.
- Remove any loose or flaking material and feather any edges of sound paint with an abrasive paper.
- Remove all rust by scraping, chipping or wire brushing.
- Wash with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove all oil/grease and any other contaminates, frequently changing the water.
- Spot prime bare metal with an appropriate rust-inhibiting primer and undercoat.
Application
We always recommend performing a test patch to the surface to be decorated to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Stir well, always intermix packs in a larger container for colour consistency.
- Apply using a brush or roller and do not overspread.
- For maximum durability apply two coats allowing 16 hours between coats.
- If covering a strong colour you may require more coats.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if air/surface temperature is likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during the application or drying period.
